A Fall Wedding With Sunflowers

A Fall Wedding With Sunflowers

October weddings have such a beautiful feeling to them, especially when you bring in warm seasonal colours and flowers like sunflowers. For this couple, I created their wedding flowers as silk flower rentals, featuring bright sunflowers throughout the bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres. The sunflower yellow paired beautifully with the deeper autumn feeling of an October wedding while still keeping everything cheerful and romantic.

The bridal bouquet actually ended up being purchased by the bride because she loved it so much! I always love when a rental piece becomes something a couple wants to keep, especially when it is a bouquet that they can enjoy long after the wedding day. I prepared the rest of the flowers for their rental period, making it easy for the bride to have everything she needed without having to arrange for fresh flowers to be delivered right before the wedding.

Because this was a rental order, I was able to ship the flowers directly to the bride ahead of the wedding. She had time to unpack everything, keep the flowers safely stored for the wedding day and then return the rental pieces to me after the 10-day rental period. It was a simple way to have all of the wedding flowers arrive together without needing to coordinate a florist delivery on the wedding day itself.

October can also be a tricky month for fresh flowers. The weather is unpredictable, temperatures can drop quickly and many couples start thinking about whether their favourite flowers will still be available as the season changes. With silk flowers, none of that was a concern. The sunflowers and other flowers looked the same when they arrived as they did on the wedding day, and there was no need to worry about cold temperatures, flowers being out of season or bouquets holding up throughout the day.

I loved how these flowers worked for an October wedding. The sunflowers gave the bouquets a warm, happy focal point, while the rest of the design kept everything feeling bridal. It was also a great example of one of the biggest advantages of silk flower rentals: the flowers can travel across Ontario, arrive well ahead of the wedding and be ready to go whenever the couple needs them, no matter what the weather is doing outside.
