Meet the Farmer-Florist

Hi, I'm Sarah, the farmer and florist behind Harvest Hill Flower Farm. After more than a decade of working in the wedding industry as a photographer and florist, I now grow and dry flowers for weddings. I start the flowers from seed, harvest them by hand, and slowly dry them before turning them into dried wedding bouquets and arrangements. I personally handle every order, from choosing and growing the flowers to designing the finished pieces for your wedding day.

  • They last long after the wedding

Your wedding bouquet can become a keepsake rather than something that gets thrown away after the celebration. With a little care, dried wedding flowers can last for years, allowing you to hold onto a beautiful part of your wedding day long after the celebration is over.

  • They can be prepared ahead of time

Because dried flowers don't need water or refrigeration, your wedding flowers can be designed and finished well before your wedding day. That means one less thing to worry about as the big day gets closer.

  • They're easy to transport

Dried wedding bouquets and arrangements are simple to transport and can be a particularly practical choice for elopements, destination weddings, or couples travelling with their flowers.

  • Perfect for off-season weddings

Planning a winter, early spring, or late fall wedding? Dried flowers give you more flexibility outside the traditional growing season, since they can be harvested and dried well ahead of your wedding date.

From Field to Bouquet

Every wedding arrangement starts in my fields. I grow and harvest my flowers here on the farm, choosing varieties for their colour, shape, texture, and how beautifully they dry.

Once they're ready, I harvest each flower at the right stage and bring them into the barn to dry naturally. I don't use dyes, preservatives, or artificial colouring. Once fully dried, the flowers are carefully stored until they're ready to become your bridal bouquet, bridesmaid flowers, boutonnieres, centrepieces, and other wedding arrangements.

Are your wedding flowers grown in Ontario?

Yes. I grow and forage all of the flowers I use right here on my Ontario flower farm. I harvest them at their best and naturally dry them without dyes, preservatives, or artificial colouring.

What varieties of flowers do you grow?

I grow a variety of flowers specifically for drying, including strawflower, statice, globe amaranth, globe thistle, billy buttons, bachelor’s buttons, feverfew, and more. The exact flowers and colours available for your wedding will vary from season to season depending on what I’m growing and how the flowers perform in the garden.

Do you use pesticides on your flowers?

No. I grow my flowers without the use of pesticides. I use natural growing practices on the farm and carefully harvest and dry the flowers by hand. This means your wedding flowers aren't just beautiful — you also know exactly where they came from and how they were grown.

How far in advance should I order my dried wedding flowers?

I recommend ordering as early as possible, especially for custom wedding flowers. Dried flowers can be prepared ahead of time, but I take on a limited number of weddings each season and availability depends on what I've grown and dried.

Do you offer custom dried wedding flowers?

How long do dried wedding flowers last?

With proper care, dried flowers can last for years. Keeping them out of direct sunlight and away from moisture will help preserve their colour and condition.

Can I order just a bridal bouquet?

Yes. You don't need to order flowers for your entire wedding. I offer individual wedding pieces as well as larger custom orders, depending on seasonal availability.

Do dried flowers shed?

Some delicate dried flowers may shed a little when handled, which is a natural part of working with real dried flowers. I carefully select and prepare each arrangement to help minimize shedding while keeping the natural character of the flowers.

Are dried flowers suitable for winter weddings?

Yes! Dried flowers are a wonderful option for winter and other off-season weddings because they aren't dependent on what's blooming on your wedding date. Flowers can be grown, harvested, and dried well in advance.

Can I choose my wedding flower colours?

Absolutely. When planning a custom order, we'll work together around your wedding colour palette and the flowers I have available. Since I grow many of the flowers myself, availability can vary with the growing season.

Do you ship dried wedding flowers across Canada?

Yes! Dried wedding bouquets and arrangements can be shipped across Canada. Dried flowers don't require water or refrigeration, making them especially convenient to transport. I package them safely for travelling.

Can I see what my flowers will look like before the wedding?

For custom orders, I provide sample images for you to review and make revisions as needed so we can make sure the overall look feels right for your wedding day.
