Ontario Wedding Venue Price Comparison

Ontario Wedding Venue Price Comparison

Planning a wedding in Ontario—especially in the GTA and Southern Ontario—can feel like navigating a maze of beautiful venues and very different price tags. A venue that looks affordable at first can become much more expensive once you add food, drinks, ceremony fees, rentals, service charges and HST.

To make things easier, I’ve pulled together recent pricing from a variety of Ontario wedding venues, from gardens and conservation areas to farms, estates, banquet halls and all-inclusive venues. The examples below are based on approximately 100–150 guests, depending on the venue and available package.

These are estimates based on recent pricing and quotes, so always confirm current pricing directly with the venue before booking. This was updated in August 2026.

Ontario Wedding Venue Price Ranges

Note: Prices below are approximate all-in costs after HST based on the guest count and package used for each venue. Inclusions vary significantly, so a lower price does not necessarily mean a lower overall wedding cost.

Budget-Friendly Options — Under $5,000

Venue Approx. Price Notes
Niagara Peninsula Conservation $2,000 Venue space only
Toronto Botanical Gardens $2,000 Venue space only
Spadina Museum $3,000 Some rentals included
Venue 1906 $4,000 Food and drinks included
Ruthven Park $5,000 Food and drinks included
Heintzman House $5,000 Food and drinks included

These are some of the lower-cost options in the group, but it’s important to remember that venues offering space only will require you to budget separately for catering, rentals, bar service and other vendors.

Mid-Range Options — $5,000–$15,000

Venue Approx. Price Notes
Spindle Tree Manor $6,000 Maximum 100 guests; food included
Georgian Hills Vineyards $7,000 Drinks minimum applies
Fallowfield Estate $8,000 Rentals included
Royal Botanical Gardens $10,000 Some rentals and ceremony space included
La Primavera $15,000 Food, mandatory open bar and ceremony

Once you get into this range, you’ll start seeing more packages that include catering and other wedding-day essentials. These can be much easier to budget for than a venue rental where you have to bring in everything yourself.

At the luxury end of the market, couples are generally paying for a more comprehensive experience, premium spaces, higher-end food and beverage packages, additional amenities or accommodation. These venues can make sense if you want a more hands-off wedding, but they can also consume a large portion of your overall wedding budget.

Why the Venue Price Isn't Always the Real Price

One of the biggest mistakes couples can make when comparing wedding venues is looking only at the advertised venue rental or per-person price.

A venue with a $100 per-person package might look cheaper than one charging $130 per person, but the first venue could have additional ceremony fees, rentals, service charges or a cash bar. By the time everything is added, the difference can be much smaller than you expected.

When comparing venues, ask for an estimated final cost based on your actual guest count. This makes it much easier to compare apples to apples.

What to Check Before Booking

  1. Food and beverage minimums – Find out whether you have a minimum spend and exactly what counts toward it.

  2. Bar options – Ask whether the venue offers an open bar, cash bar or consumption bar and what is included in each.

  3. Ceremony fees – Your ceremony may be an additional cost even if you're holding both events at the same venue.

  4. Rentals – Check whether tables, chairs, linens, plates, cutlery and glassware are included.

  5. Service charges and gratuities – These can add thousands of dollars to a large wedding. Look carefully at the percentage being charged.

  6. HST – Make sure you know whether the advertised price already includes tax.

  7. Guest minimums – A minimum guest count can significantly change the price, especially for smaller weddings.

Tips for Saving on Your Ontario Wedding Venue

  1. Consider a Friday, Sunday or off-season wedding. Many venues offer lower pricing outside of peak Saturday dates.

  2. Look beyond traditional banquet halls. Conservation areas, gardens, farms and private estates can sometimes offer more flexibility for couples willing to DIY some elements.

  3. Compare the entire package. A venue with a higher rental price can actually be the better deal if it includes food, drinks, rentals and ceremony space.

  4. Ask about hidden fees. Service charges, gratuities, corkage, cake-cutting fees, ceremony fees and rental charges can quickly add up.

  5. Get the quote in writing. Packages and pricing can change, so make sure you understand exactly what is included before signing a contract.

Final Thoughts

Ontario has wedding venues for almost every type of wedding and budget, but the price range is huge. From a few thousand dollars for a simple venue rental to $40,000, $50,000 or more for a luxury all-inclusive experience, there’s a lot of ground in between.

If you’re planning a DIY wedding, don’t automatically assume the cheapest venue will save you the most money. A venue with fewer inclusions may require you to spend more on catering, rentals, bartending and coordination. On the other hand, an all-inclusive venue may save you time but take up a much larger portion of your wedding budget.

The best approach is to decide what matters most to you, get an all-in estimate from each venue and compare the final numbers side by side. That way, you can find a venue that fits both your vision and your actual wedding budget.
